My Career As A Hand Model Is Over Before It Started

My Career As A Hand Model Is Over Before It Started

I messed up… my finger

So, the day before yesterday I was doing incline dumbbell bench press in the gym, and when I went to drop the weight to the side, the tip of my finger got caught. I split my finger open up the tip and across the nailbed. I know… dumb move. And yeah, no lifting for a bit.

At first this was really heartbreaking because I have made so much progress at this point and I don’t feel like slowing down. But this is just one more challenge to overcome. Working out grounds me. It’s the only thing I look forward to each day (except for Zach’s phone calls). But just because I have to stop lifting and using my hand for most activities doesn’t mean I need to stop being active.

So, I am going to keep on winning. Doctor says I might be able to start lifting again in two weeks. In the meantime, I am going to do cardio, abs, and any supplementary exercises I can in order to maintain the progress I have.

I promised Zach I would stick to the doctor’s orders and only do exercise that I am cleared for. I intend to stick to it. Oftentimes people hurt their recovery by trying to come back too soon. I’ve been there. I’ve made that mistake. Recovery first. Clean eating. Supplementary exercises.

This is just one more obstacle. Guess God thinks I need more of a challenge, eh?
